If a fire strikes your home, your first call should be to 911. Your second call should be to us.
At Northern Restoration Services, we pride ourselves on being extensively certified and experienced professionals who can help you during this difficult time in your life. We provide fire damage restoration services for homes and business. We can board up your property, remove water, clean smoke and soot debris and rebuild your property following an unexpected fire loss. Our team is certified by the IICRC and we are licensed contractors in the state of Michigan.
Because your safety is most important in this situation, you should not reenter your home until you have been given clearance by the firefighters who responded to your call.
When you are allowed to reenter your home, you should avoid doing any of the following:
-Cleaning electrical devices that were exposed to fire or water.
-Opening or eating packaged or canned foods that were exposed to fire or water.
-Turning on ceiling fans or lights that were exposed to water.
-Washing walls that were damaged by fire, smoke or water.
However, you should do the following:
-Change your HVAC filter as soon as possible.
-Cover the carpeted areas where you walk with towels or linens.
-Affix two layers of cheesecloth over air ducts.
-If there is chrome in your home, lightly coat it with oil or Vaseline.
While following both sets of tips will help you minimize the amount of damage in your home, the sooner you call us, the sooner we can restore your home to its previous state.
The reason we emphasize calling us as soon as possible is because Northern Restoration Services provides a comprehensive response to your situation. Not only do we work with you and your home, but we also work with your insurance company to ensure that when our job is done, you don’t have any additional headaches to remedy.
When we arrive at your home, we will begin putting your life back together by securing all of your important personal belongings. Before we begin cleaning your home, we will document, pack and move your personal property to our warehouse, where it will be safely kept in a secure and climate-controlled environment.
Once your home is clear, we can clear out any debris that is in your home, as well as any standing water that is left from the firefighters putting the fire out. Next, if there is damage to your home that requires any demolition, we perform that step for you. Because of our experience and dedication to professionalism, you can count on us to only demolish things beyond repair, and to avoid causing any additional damage to your home.
After we have completed this three-part process, we will be ready to begin the reconstruction and restoration process. Depending on the level of damage to your home, this can include cleaning or replacing carpet, ozone treatment and soot removal, as well exterior and/or interior reconstruction.
We hope your home is never impacted by a fire, but in the event that it is, call Northern Restoration Services so we can help you get your life back together as soon as possible!
